There are too many ways to make an USB installer for Hackintosh. But I wanna share with you some basic steps how to make it. First, you need a Real Mac or Hackintosh which you can use to download OSX Yosemite from the Mac App Store. It's about 5.17 GB. Next, go to folder "Applications" find app "Install OS X Yosemite" which you've download before. Right click on it, select Show Package Contents.
Then go to Contents/SharedSupport/ and mount "InstallESD.dmg". Make sure you've show the hidden files before. Next, you should mount "BaseSystem.dmg" and plug your empty USB Flash drive (8GB minimum requirred).
Open Launchpad then open Disk Utility.
Click "OS X Base System" on the left side, select Restore Tab, and Drag your partition of USB Flash drive to the "Destination" column, click "Restore". You will erase your USB Flash partition, select OK then enter your password. Wait for moments. After that, go to "OS X Install ESD" from Finder, drag or copy the "Packages" folder to /Installer/System/Installation/. I renamed my USB Flash drive partition to "Installer" just to make it easily. It's about 4.72 GB. When you see warning "will you replace the existing folder?", just select replace and wait for moments again.
Then copy the "BaseSystem.chunklist" and " BaseSystem.dmg" to root of your USB installer. You have done when you wanna install Yosemite on a Real Mac machine from USB flash drive. But if you wanna install it on a Hackintosh, you should add 2 steps below.
Add additional kext (Basic Hackintosh kext) NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and FakeSMC.kext to /Installer/System/Library/Extentions/.
The last step, Install the bootloader. There is an option which bootloader you want to use. Chameleon, Chimera, or Clover. Hope you love this tutorial, subscribe my blog and wait the next post.
